Minimum and Recommended PC Specs

Use the MW4 system requirements as a checklist across the whole PC: processor, graphics card, RAM, Windows and storage. Then check the separate conditions for online play. One matching component does not confirm that every requirement is met.

The table below follows the reviewed Steam product listing. The publisher’s PC article provides another official list, with an important recommended-GPU difference explained below.

The COD PC article also states that Intel Arc GPUs require Resizable BAR. Check that condition against your exact platform and the current official article.

Keep the exact GPU model in view. A shared brand name or similar-looking number does not make two cards the same model. If your part is not listed, this table does not provide a tested ranking for it.

Where the Official Spec Lists Differ

The Call of Duty PC technical article names an RTX 3060 Ti, while Steam’s reviewed recommended list names an RTX 3060. This is a source difference, rather than a reason to quietly choose whichever card makes a PC appear to pass.

The COD article describes its recommended tier as a target of 90 FPS in multiplayer at High settings. That target belongs to the article’s corresponding hardware and conditions. It is not a performance result measured by this website and should not be transferred to Steam’s different NVIDIA entry.

If you are making a hardware purchase, open both current sources and check whether either has been revised. If a card falls between the two listed models, seek testing for your specific configuration instead of treating the lower entry as a guaranteed result.

SSD Space and Update Headroom

The official launch requirement is 115 GB of available space on an SSD. This is the storage field, not a measurement of how much data your connection will download. It also does not establish the largest amount of temporary space a future update might need.

Mandatory updates may require additional space. Check the destination SSD before installation and review the current space estimate shown by Steam for the installation or update you are performing. If you have more than one drive, check the one selected for the Steam library. Free space on a different disk does not answer whether the intended destination has room. Avoid planning an installation around a drive with exactly the launch minimum free and no allowance for subsequent activity.

Online Play Requirements Beyond CPU and GPU

Activision says MW4 players without the required TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot configuration will be restricted from any online game mode. For these online security checks, the support page specifies Windows 10 version 22H2 or later, or Windows 11, alongside its firmware guidance. These requirements must be checked separately from the game’s minimum rendering hardware. Activision security requirements.

That distinction matters for older systems. A processor appearing in a minimum game-specification list is not, by itself, proof that the complete PC meets every current security requirement. Start with the read-only security checks rather than changing firmware settings because the game shows a warning.

How to Check Your PC Against the Lists

1. Write down the exact processor and GPU models, installed memory, Windows version and intended SSD. Use the information shown by Windows or your hardware manufacturer’s documentation.
2. Compare each field with the same official tier. Do not combine the recommended RAM row with a minimum GPU and call the whole system recommended.
3. Note the RTX 3060/3060 Ti difference if you are reading the recommended NVIDIA tier. Keep the source attached to the conclusion.
4. Check storage at the actual Steam destination and complete the separate online-security and account checks.
5. Use any performance target only within its stated context. Different settings, modes, updates and hardware combinations require their own testing.
